The site for project six is Warley woods located in Smethwick. The site is absolutely beautiful with stunning views. The site is very far from uni so I decided to get a cab to the site with a group of students. I got some really good photos of the site capturing nature at its finest.
Site Analysis
The site is around one third woodland which feels like you are out in the countryside. Warley Woods provides valuable habitat for a wide range of wildlife and plants and is an important green space in a heavily built up urban area. There is a rich diversity of species in Warley Woods from invertebrates to birds to mammals. There are also a wide range of trees which include: Red oak, American oak, English oak, Sessile oak, Horse chestnut, Sweet chestnut, Sycamore, Silver birch, Larch, Scot’s pine and Beech.
